| For a limited
time we are offering free advice for issues relating to health during
the menopause years. Here are some that have been answered recently:
I am going through a family crisis, will a Reiki treatment help
to calm me?
Reiki healing is a
very relaxing, gentle treatment. The energy will go to the area where
healing is most required, whether it is in your physical, mental, emotional
or spriitual being. Yes, you will find it most calming.
I am having huge digestive problems in addition to my menopause
symptoms. Can you help?
As we mature our digestive
processes begin to work less efficiently which can, if not addressed,
lead to more severe problems in later life. To help your digestion I
would advise you to begin a de-toxification of your body by drinking
pure alkaline, ionized water, (2 litres a day) and use Healpas de-tox
patches each night, which are specially designed to avoid overloading
the liver and kidneys. Also, it is important to eat a light, healthy
diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables. If your symptoms persist consult
a Naturopath.
I have been experiencing severe fatigue, and can't seem to
function as I used to. I have also had one or two hot flushes. I am only
42, could this be the start of menopause already?
Yes, your hormone levels
begin to drop as early as 40 (sometimes even earlier), you are most
probably in the peri-menopause (or pre-menopause) stage. The Magnopro
System can help you to get a better night's sleep, leaving you feeling
more energetic during the day.
My sleeping patterns are badly disrupted , although I am not
suffering from hot flushes. What can I do?
It is best to have
a light meal at least 3 hours prior to retiring and avoid coffee and
alchohol in the evening. Try a glass of milk before bed and put a few
drops of lavender essential oil on your pillow. I do recommend the Magnopro
system for sleep disturbances. I have received good feedback from
my clients on how much their sleeping patterns have improved after using
it. Also try my relaxing Meditation CD: it's almost guaranteed to calm
your mind.
I have just had a Bone Mineral Density test and I am bordering
on Osteoporosis in my hip. How can I prevent it from getting worse?
Don't despair , there
is much you can do. Here are a few guidelines:
- Get some exercise every day if possible. 30 minutes brisk walking,
using hand weights is ideal or any weight bearing exercise.
- Cut down on coffee and alchohol - they drain calcium from your bones.
- Take a good quality calcium supplement every day. I recommend Sango
Ocean Milk Coral Calcium. It is one of the best. It also has a stabilizing
effect on emotional disturbances.
- Eat calcium rich foods, such as cottage cheese, yogurt, tahini, and
tempeh.
How often is it safe to use Action Balm, I have been using it for
arthritis in my knee?
You can use it as frequently
as every hour if the pain is severe, and gradually reduce the application
to every four hours over a period of three to four weeks. It does have
an overall healing effect on the cause as well.
